This relaxed circular route affords the walker a variety of countryside with sections through wooded areas and valleys, such as Hope Valley; home to a colony of dormice, yellow archangels and purple orchids. Ascents offer beautiful views over interesting landscape features like Bromlow Callow with the distinctive outline of its wooded crown being visible for miles.
Imagine patrolling the border without a decent pub. How would Offa’s Dyke have been built without them? Over a thousand years later, keep up the tradition and stop for a drink and a bite to eat at The Stables Inn, Hopesgate. The Stables serves excellent local beers as well as a range or wines, soft drinks and meals. Earlier opening in the week can be arranged for groups by prior arrangement.
