The route

A shorter 4.5 mile option for those not wishing to ascend to the top of Sunnyhill. This circular route from the quaint Shropshire village of Clun offers some wonderful views over spectacular countryside. This route has a steady 6.5 mile option – the pinnacle of the walk is summit of Sunnyhill where Bury ditches iron-age hill fort can be found. Often rated as a spectacular example of a surviving hill fort, it forms a neat elliptical shape and comprises up to four multi-vallate ditches and rampart banks as part of its defensive earthworks and two well preserved entrance ways.
