Nestled in the shadow of the Stiperstones ridge, The Bog is housed in a former Victorian School. Discover the area’s rich heritage and warm up with tea and coffee-all served by friendly locals. With a car park that includes disabled bays, ramp access to the building and accessible toilets, enjoy the resting seats and tactile rails or linger on the veranda and take in the view of the quartzite tors.

Jack Felton, an artist with a learning disability, has made a special ceramic tile to help visitors connect with the landscape.
You can find it at the viewpoint.
Jack moulded clay and materials found in the local area into an organic shape and added simple tactile marks, textures, and words so everyone can ‘feel the landscape’.
This tile is one of a series created for the Open Horizons project, led by Lead Artist Roz Donati of Pneuma Affinity CIC, and made in collaboration with My Options, Telford & Wrekin.
Artist Statement
Jack likes to spend time with friends, tell jokes, and learn about the things that interest him.
He enjoyed the sensory feel of the clay and exploring it with his hands. In Jacks ceramic plaque you can see Corndon Hill where the land is divided between England and the Welsh land beyond. Jacks piece also speaks of the mining community who once lived at The Bog.
Jack feels proud of his work and would like people to see how lovely the Shropshire Hills are. He says, “I am pleased that others will be able to see my sign.”
