Getting out and about in the great outdoors by bike is easy in Shropshire
The market towns are a good place to start, with a number of circular cycle routes from each town. The towns all have a distinctive character and connection with the surrounding countryside, from the medieval jewel of Ludlow, with its links to the Shropshire Hills, to the canal town of Ellesmere, connected to the internationally important Meres and Mosses.

The 185m Shropshire Cycleway goes round the perimeter of the county and there are a number of National Cycle Routes that pass through Shropshire including the Mercian Way, which runs between Salisbury and Chester, and the Six Castles Cycleway between Shrewsbury and Leominster.
