NNAS Night Owl by P600 Mountaineering

Ever been caught out after dark on a walk or fancy exploring at night? Navigating at night adds another level of complexity, and what may be straightforward in daylight is less so after dark.

The NNAS Night Owl is a practical, hands-on course designed by the NNAS’s experienced team of navigators to introduce you to some of the techniques to make you a confident and effective night navigator.

The course is run over a four-hour period, either in one go or over a few shorter sessions. You’ll cover speed, timing, night-time pacing, contours and relocation along with various navigation strategies that will help you improve the accuracy of your navigation.

It is expected that attendees will have some experience of navigation before attending, such as NNAS Bronze or Silver Navigator Award.

A £1.50 course fee is paid to the National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) on your behalf. Successful candidates will receive a digital certificate at the end of the course.
