Once known as RAF Bridgnorth, Stanmore Country Park is the site of a World War II training base. The Country Park also includes a War Memorial, and offers excellent access owing to its level terrain. Many of the Camp’s original tarmac paths still exist making it ideally suitable for visitors with wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
Path Information
The Country Park has a level car park with excellent access to the main wooded area and a map of the site. There is also access from here across the road to the northern end of the site. Generally the paths are fairly broad, hard-packed stone or concrete. In places the paths follow the tarmac roads of the original training camp.
