The Children’s Trail
A short circular trail around wood carvings of famous fictional characters featured in a much-loved story. This trail is 124m and is accessible for people using wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and for families with pushchairs, and involves small inclines and declines along the way. Surrounded by pollinating plants, the trail has low-level wooden seating and can be accessed by two visitor car parks via tactile and block paving, and a gate.
The Woodland Walk
A short walk that encompasses different garden features including a storyteller tree, legacy sculpture and wooden bridge. The walk can be accessed from the car parks outside the Refresh and Community Services Centre building. The bridge is accessible to all, with a slight decline at one end which leads on to an uneven, yet accessible pathway. There are plenty of benches along this route for visitors to use. This route is approximately 285m from the Refresh café car park.
Visitors can access café and toilet facilities during the day and the distances from each visitor and disabled car parking bays vary, however all are accessible via tarmacked surfaces, tactile and block paving. Visitors are reminded to remain vigilant of passing cars when walking round the site.

- Access to the trail and walk are available from dawn to dusk.
- An on-site café, Refresh, provides hot and cold refreshments with indoor and outdoor seating. The café is open from 9am – 4.30pm weekdays, 9am – 5pm on Saturdays and 10am – 4pm on Sundays.
- Toilets are available inside the café during opening hours.
- Bench seating is available around the storyteller tree, within the woodland walk.
- The woodland walk has uneven pathways.
- The hospice grounds are a no smoking zone and there is a 5mph speed limit on site.
- Dogs are welcome on-site and, in the café, but must be kept on a short lead.
