This walk will take you around Meole Brace. To extend the walk see the optional extension into the surrounding countryside – Walking For Life: Louise House Meole Brace Walk 2
You can either start and finish at Louise House on Roman Road, or, simply join the walk from any point on the map.
Turn left out of Louise House onto Roman Road. Cross Roman Road at the crossing point to the opposite pavement and turn right. Continue up Roman Road to the Railway Bridge.
Once over the railway bridge continue on Roman road for 200m until you reach a footpath on your left leading to the playing field.
Go down footpath and turn left onto the playing fields, follow the hedge line and then railway line around the edge of the field until you reach a railway crossing point on your left.
Cross over the railway at crossing point and turn right onto narrow footpath.
When you reach a road cross straight over and continue on footpath on the other side.
When you reach the football pitch turn left and follow edge of field up to a gate onto the road.
Go through the gate and turn left onto the road; follow the road until you reach a mini roundabout.
Go straight on at the mini roundbaout (2nd exit) so that you follow the road up through the ‘no entry’ signs; after a short while you will reach a T-junction.
Turn right at T junction and cross Roman Road via the crossing point. Turn left then follow Roman Road for 50m back to the entrance to Louise House.
