An easy 18 mile cycling route for lovers of the countryside who can enjoy a break at the delightful Colemere heritage site, where an array of wildlife can be spotted. Refreshments can be taken on the route at both Cockshutt and Welshampton.
Ellesmere Cycle Rides Route 2: Penley, Bangor and Overton
This 22½ mile circular route incorporates cycling on major roads and may suit more experienced cyclists. This is a great journey for those with equestrian interests as, after crossing the border and enjoying the sweeping countryside of Wales, you can enjoy a trip to the races at the famous Bangor on Dee racecourse.

Ellesmere Cycle Rides Route 4: To Gobowen & Oswestry
This 24½ miles is suitable for more experienced cyclists as it includes some cycling on steep inclines and busy roads. Those who take the ride will enjoy both open countryside and the opportunity to enjoy the industrial heritage of the town of Oswestry, which has been an important settlement on the borders of Wales for many centuries.
Ellesmere Cycle Rides Route 5: To West Felton, Ruyton XI Towns & Baschurch (10 mile)
This is the shortest route at 10 miles, with an option of 29½ miles and is suitable for more experienced cyclists as it includes some cycling on steep inclines and busy roads. En-route, you could enjoy a picnic at the canal near Lower Frankton or, if you choose to take the longer route, stop off for refreshments in the bustling villages of Ruyton-XI-Towns and Baschurch.

A 10 mile off road cycle route on tarmac and gravel paths, between Shrewsbury and Uffington. Allow one and a half hours. Suitable for adults and children over 8 years old.

Family Friendly Rides: Wildlife & Waterways
An 11km / 7 miles family friendly cycle route around Shrewsbury, plus an optional short walk. Allow 2-3 hours. The route is mostly quiet roads or traffic-free paths. You can use any sort of bicycle but some paths are unsurfaced so may be muddy. There is one short stretch on a busy road where there is the option of walking if preferred.

Market Drayton Cycle Rides Route 1: To Tyrley Locks
A short, easy six mile cycle route including some cycling on busy roads. This route crosses the Shropshire Union Canal at the pretty Tyrley Locks and gives you the option of returning to Market Drayton along the towpath.

A brilliant 24 miles cycle ride around quiet country lanes. Easy cycling with a few short steep hills. The whole route will take you through the spectacular Bishop’s Offley and pretty Cop Mere. A 16 mile option is also available.

A brilliant 16 miles cycle ride around quiet country lanes. Easy cycling with a few short steep hills. The whole route will take you through the spectacular Bishop’s Offley and pretty Cop Mere. There is a short cut back through Cheswardine and also along the Shropshire Union Canal. A 24 mile option is also available.

An interesting 16 mile cycle route taking in Tern Hill Airfield and Old Colehurst Manor as well as the pretty villages of Stoke on Tern, Wollerton and Hodnet. Easy cycling but with some cycling on busy roads.
Market Drayton Cycle Rides Route 4: Audlem; around Cheshire
A fantastic 19 mile circular cycle route taking in beautiful countryside and pretty villages including the canalside village of Audlem. This route is suitable for more experienced cyclists, following roads that can be busy at times and offers an option to use the towpath to enter Audlem.
Oswestry Cycle Rides Route 1: Scenic Selattyn
A beautiful 13 mile circular ride featuring some steep climbs and descents. The ride offers great views of the countryside around Oswestry and historic features such as Offa’s Dyke. In the spring you may see curlews and skylarks.
Oswestry Cycle Rides Route 2: Ceiriog Climber
Explore both the English and Welsh countryside with this 25 mile ride out into the beautiful Ceiriog Valley with fantastic views over Offa’s Dyke and Oswestry’s old racecourse. Suitable for experienced cyclists, low gears and good brakes are essential!

The 185m Shropshire Cycleway goes round the perimeter of the county and there are a number of National Cycle Routes that pass through Shropshire including the Mercian Way, which runs between Salisbury and Chester, and the Six Castles Cycleway between Shrewsbury and Leominster.
